Why I Started The Carburetor Journal

I've spent much of my life around carburetors and what most people see as an old piece of metal sitting on a workbench, I often see as a piece of automotive history.
Over the years, working in my family's carburetor business, I've seen the industry change and carburetors that were once readily available have become obsolete. Parts disappear, knowledge is lost, and identifying the right carburetor or the smallest replacement part requires digging through catalogs that haven't been printed in decades.
That's one of the reasons I created The Carburetor Journal.
I wanted this to be more than another online parts store. My goal is to create a place where enthusiasts, restorers, mechanics and everyday people can find carburetor parts and cores but also find useful information about the carburetors they're working on.
Sometimes that might mean an article about a particular Rochester Quadrajet. Other times it might be identifying a Carter carburetor, explaining an old part number, or looking through vintage literature to understand what originally came on a particular vehicle.
And yes, you'll find parts and carburetors for sale here too. When we have something related to what I'm writing about, I'll make it available through the Journal.
Carburetors may be old technology, but there's still an enormous community keeping these vehicles alive. The Carburetor Journal is my small contribution to preserving some of that knowledge and helping keep these cars on the road.
